Reading to kids is the best!

Young kids have the AWESOMEST energy, and I love sharing the adventures of Skoshie & Friends with them at schools and events.

ideal audience

Schools: Grades 1-3

Did you ever think you had to wait til you were "good enough" to do something? I'll show young writers just how grown-up they don't have to be to tell their story.

Then I'll share my first book, "Strange Wild Beings," in an engaging, interactive reading.

TIME: Approx. 25 minutes

WHO: Ideal for one or two classrooms (though I have spoken in whole-school assemblies)

Keeping it quick for small attention spans, I'll sit and share my first book, "Strange Wild Beings," in an engaging, interactive reading. Skoshie and her friends even make an in-person appearance (in plushie form)!

TIME: Approx. 15 minutes

WHO: Ideal for smaller groups of young kiddos

storytime + craft

Library Visits

With a focus on "looking for good things," I'll share my first book, "Strange Wild Beings," in an energetic reading that keeps the kids involved.

Then we'll put together a character-based craft project that combines drawing, character posing, and even a movable waving arm!

TIME: Approx. 1 hour

WHO: Ideal for ages 5-8

REQUIREMENTS: Whiteboard or chalkboard, to demonstrate the craft project. Otherwise I provide all materials!

    Minimum purchase:

    • 10 books at $10/each for local visits (20-mile radius of North Attleboro, Mass.)
    • 25 books at $10/each for elsewhere in Mass. / Rhode Island

    Suggestion:

    Teachers can send students home *before the presentation* with the option to purchase the book(s). I've worked with PTOs that pay for half the cost of the book, so students can buy the book for only $5 at the presentation. I can personalize & sign the books the day of!
